The Turn Out Response New Page 2
Fire Service policy require that an appliance respond to an emergency within 30 seconds during the day and 60 seconds during the night after the alarm is sounded at a station.
The number of appliances which will respond to an emergency and the stations from which they will come, e.g. a fire call, is predetermined by the risk involved.
All personnel should be fully dressed in their turnout suits when they arrive at an incident. The driver will dress when the appliance arrives at the incident.
The incharge of the appliance will report via the appliance’s wireless radio that it is responding to an emergency and the address must be stated. This is to confirm the address with the mobilizing control.
The driver must know the address and the way to it.
